A s£x worker working at a popular brothel in Ughelli, the headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government Area in Delta State, was stabbed and strangled to death Thursday night by unidentified assailants.
The deceased, simply identified as Miss Confidence, was discovered dead in her brothel room after failing to appear to join her colleagues to scout for customers.
The development sparked panic in the area, with panicked colleagues of the deceased fleeing the scene.
“Her coworkers were waiting for her outside, looking for customers, but they didn’t see her. They went to knock on her door, and when they opened it, they discovered her dead in her room,” a source who requested anonymity said.
When contacted yesterday, Mr. Bright Edafe, the State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident, saying, “She was stabbed in the stomach and strangled.”
He stated that the police had begun an investigation into the matter, but that no arrests had been made thus far.
