“How Can You Hold A 2-Million-Man Match In A 15,000 Capacity Stadium”? – Asari Dokubo Asks
The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and his entourage held a rally with his supporters in Plateau state a few days ago. From the pictures, one could deduce that there was a mammoth crowd who came to welcome Peter Obi at the stadium.
However, a prominent activist of the Ijaw ethnic group in the Niger Delta region, Asari Dokubo has been quick to react to this report that the Obidients held a 2 million-man march in the stadium. According to him, it’s impossible to have 2 million people in a 15,000-capacity stadium. He analysed further that Rwang Pam township stadium cannot contain a large number of people and that the population of the Peter Obi supporters in that stadium has been blown beyond proportion.
Dokubo also added that facts should be effected in the political campaign and not create a false impression to the member of the public. However, I think Dokubo has gotten it wrong by juxtaposing the two-million-man match in September 17th to the stadium rally held this week. These are two different events that happened in Plateau.
