Gov Umahi Disagrees with Tinubu’s 14-Man Transition Committee for Excluding Igbos

The All Progressives Congress released a 14-man list of transition committee members; however, there isn’t any member who hails from the southeastern part of the country. The list sparked controversy, outrage, and criticism from Nigerians.

Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, expressed his dissatisfaction at the committee list. He argued that at least one Igbo person should have been included in the list. The governor stated that the list could promote the notion that Igbos are being marginalized in the country.

In his word: ”I disagree with the leadership of the party that in the 14-man transition committee that there should be no Igbo man there. It’s a very bad perception. I have made my point clear about that. What is right is right? “
He continued: “At least one Igbo man should have been picked in Tinubu’s 14-man transition committee. We have to work on this perception of marginalisation. Let us not allow it to grow because we stake our lives and reputation to assure our people that this will not be business as usual.”
