Marie France Mbea, a 57-year-old Cameroonian lady, has been detained for allegedly killing her sister-in-law as part of an alleged money ritual.
The culprit, according to local media, murdered the woman and dismembered her body in a hotel in Yaoundé’s Biyem Assi neighbourhood.
On Monday, August 22, 2022, when she was leaving the hotel with the body pieces packed inside a suitcase, she was stopped.
Marie France Mbea claimed she had a phone conversation with an unidentified individual who counselled her to murder her sister-in-law in exchange for money. She checked into the hotel with the victim and then cut her throat and beat her over the head with a beer bottle.
She fled the hotel Mendzang on Sunday night after killing her sister-in-law, only to reappear on Monday carrying a machete and a Valise.
When the hotel administration saw that she was carrying something too heavy for her and refused offers of assistance, they became suspicious. She then sliced the body into pieces and placed them in the bag. The brothers made a police call.
The suspect, who is being questioned at Yaounde police headquarters, admitted that the body parts were intended to be transferred to a man in exchange for money.
