The Young Progressives Party heartily Congratulate the Speaker Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ihuoma Emereuwa, his Deputy Rt. Hon. Austin Nmeregini and all members of the 8th session of the Abia State House of Assembly who were inaugurated today after a gubernatorial proclamation by the Executive Governor of Abia State Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.
The party sends its warmest congratulations to Hon. Fyne Onyekachi Ahuama of Osisioma Ngwa South and Hon. Iheanacho Nwogu of Osisioma Ngwa North who will be representing the humble, honest and hardworking people of Osisioma Ngwa LGA and flying the flag of the YPP in the Abia State House of Assembly. We are particularly grateful to the leader of our party Engr. Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor KSC and the Abia electorates of Osisioma Ngwa LGA for their firm belief in the Young Progressives Party by reason of which they supported and maxively voted in to power two of our outstanding candidates in the 2023 elections to represent the good people of Osisioma Ngwa South and North State Constituency in the State House of Assembly.
The role of the legislature as the watchdog of the people and the first arm of government places a robust responsibility on the current members of the State Assembly as law makers in the second tier of government to deliver the dividends of democracy by representing the people well at all times.
This responsibility which will be judged at the end of their tenure by their visibility of projects and programmes aimed to alleviate poverty, transform the state and improve on the living standards of the people across the twenty four state constituencies and the ability of members to attract tangible development in seventeen local government areas of state is very important to the citizenry.
We therefore pray the Almighty God in His infinite mercy to direct the House of Assembly in the discharge of their constitutional duties even as they live up to the expectation of the populace who are eagerly waiting for their stewardship impact.
Bestman Eruba Esq.
