According to the Kano Police Command, Geng Quanrong, a Chinese, is being looked into for the murder of his girlfriend.
It was learned that Geng, 47, admitted to killing his ex-lover Ummu Kulthum after she dumped him.
Abubakar Lawal, the police commissioner, ordered the matter to be moved to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Homicide Section of the command “for discreet investigation,” according to police spokesman Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.
With a sharp knife, Geng attacked Kulthum at her home, leaving significant wounds in her neck and other body parts, according to the police.

The late Kulthum was buried in Kano on Saturday morning as her family and friends lamented her unexpected passing.
