Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr., Today 22/06/2022 emerged the People’s Democratic Party’s flag bearer for Obingwa West State Constituency in the 2023 General Election.
The renowned philanthropist polled a total of 18 votes to defeat his other rivals, Mr Enyinnaya Appollos and Mr Hanson Amaechi who did not show up for the primary election.
The election which was held at Mgboko Umuoria Primary School, Obingwa LGA, Abia State, witnessed large turn out of PDP faithful, Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Journalists, among others.
Speaking while declaring him winner, the Electoral Officer and a former Commissioner for Homeland Security, Prince Dan Okoli, said 18 votes was cast and no void votes were recorded, while declaring him winner of the primary.
Addressing newsmen after he was declared winner, Erondu Erondu Jnr. said today will continue to be a memorable day, a day the people of Uhie unanimously spoke that he should be their representative in the Abia State House of Assembly.
To other aspirants whom he contested with, he described them as his brothers whom he accepted he will work with closely to move Uhie and Obingwa West State Constituency forward, stressing that all these while, none of them cast aspersions at one other.
Erondu Jnr., lauded former member that represented Obingwa West State Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly for 8 years, Bar. Thomas Nkoro, for deeming it necessary to step down for his younger ones to carry on from where he stopped.
He pledged to work hard if he finally emerges as the winner in next year’s general election, stressing that reward for hard work is more work, while commending the people of Uhie for their massive support.
