The Former governor of Akwa Ibom state, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has been elected the 10th Senate President of Nigeria.
He defeated former governor of Zamfara state, Abdullaziz Yari.
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu stepped down before the race.
Akpabio, former minister of Niger Delta affairs, was elected at the inauguration of the 10th assembly on Tuesday, 13th June 2023
