….. AS HE UNVEILS HIS PLANS ON BOOSTING ABIA ECONOMY AND JOB CREATION.
The Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in the forthcoming election in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, on Thursday, 16 February, 2023, stormed Arochukwu Local Government Area, in a wind-up of his statewide LGA tour.
The frontline governorship aspirant first met with the Traditional Rulers Council of Abam at the Amaelu Hall, Ozu-Abam, where he received Royal blessings, and was conferred with the traditional title of ‘Ekwueme 1 of Abam’.
Next stop was at the Kingdom College Plaza, Ozu-Abam, where Dr. Otti met and dialogued with large number of people representing different Development Unions in Abam. Thereafter, the Signature Bank founder and his campaign train made it’s way to Atan-Abam community, where they were received by an excited throng of supporters at the Ogo Square.
While responding to pertinent questions concerning his vision for Abia, Dr. Otti assured the people of accelerated development in Arochukwu LG and Abia State in general.
He said, “We will declare a state of emergency on Abia infrastructure. We have developmental plans for every community in Abia, including access roads in the rural areas.
“A lot of Abia sons and daughters who are top professionals in their respective fields are eager to return home but have no confidence in the government of the day. They are not sure that the state is conducive enough for them to come home and invest.”
The Labour Party standard bearer also blamed unemployment for the high level of insecurity in the state. According to him, “Insecurity is a product of unemployment and poor economic policies. If we create wealth for our people, it will drastically reduce the level of crime we’re experiencing in the state.
On Abia economy, the first class economics graduate said; “Demand decisions will create supply decisions, which will create production decisions, and in turn create jobs and drastically improve the economy.”
“Government has a serious role to play in the economy and living condition of its people. For instance, It is government’s responsibility to subsidize agriculture for food security. Our government will sack poverty in Abia”, he concluded.
