Appropriate Measures Are Being Taken To Rehabilitate The Inmates Of Umunkpeyi Baby Factory – Abia First Lady, Priscilla

Mrs. Priscilla Otti, the wife of the State Governor, expressed that appropriate measures are being taken to rehabilitate the inmates who were rescued from a baby factory situated in Umunkpeyi, Nvosi, Isialangwa South LGA. During an unannounced visit to Madonna College of Health Technology in Olokoro, where the young girls affected by the incident were receiving care, Mrs. Otti assured that the government is committed to providing temporary care for the girls. Furthermore, she pledged that the government would collaborate with various institutions such as homes, churches, and other stakeholders to offer necessary assistance to young girls and children in the state who have fallen victim to exploitation.

During the visit, Rev. Father Dr. Christian Anokwuru, the Provost of Madonna College of Health Technology in Olokoro, explained how the government had brought the inmates to the college’s maternity section to ensure their well-being. He mentioned that approximately 20 girls are pregnant and have undergone essential scanning and tests.
