Please, Don’t Be Too Far From Me’ – Gov Fubara Hints On Wike’s Defection

During a thanksgiving reception held at his private residence on Ada-George Road, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State made a heartfelt plea to his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, urging him not to distance himself even if he decides to switch sides in the political arena.

Expressing his thoughts, Governor Fubara acknowledged the indications that Wike might consider joining the opposing political faction, a move that many seem to anticipate. However, he implored Wike not to stray too far from him, as he believed that lurking dangers in the form of political adversaries could pose a threat.

Governor Fubara emphasized the importance of Wike’s presence and guidance in keeping him focused on serving the state’s best interests, despite the challenges they might face.

This plea from Governor Fubara emerges amidst speculations that Wike may leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

It should be noted that Wike chose to support Bola Tinubu, the APC candidate controversially declared the winner of the 2023 presidential election, instead of his own party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
