The All Progressives Grand Alliance Candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in 2023 election, Dr. Okuji Obinna Oreh, has publicly pledged that he will be irrevocably and irretrievably committed to ensuring that as the representative of the constituency, his people will get all the dividends accruing to them and much more.

Dr Oreh made the pledge when he received an award as a Distinguished Son of Ohafia (DSO) from the Ohafia Improvement Union Incorporated, Abuja branch, the umbrella body of all organizations in Ohafia. Oreh said “ To receive this award which is the highest recognition for any individual at this auspicious time when I am presenting myself for the service of our peoples is a great endorsement and acceptance and one which I hold in extremely high esteem. I publicly wish to pledge that I will be irrevocably and irretrievably committed to ensuring that as your representative, our people will get all the dividends accruing to them and much more”

Dr. Oreh described the award as the one he would cherish and would gladden the soul of his father Dr. Onuma Onwuka Oreh of blessed memory. He reminded the organizers that Ohafia is rich in “historical narrations that affirm that they are not only known as warriors by their virtues of bravery, courage and heroism” but also places very high premium on women who transmit the spiritual strength of their abstinence to their husbands even in the battle field.

According to Oreh, “the legendary martial music of Ikperikpe ogu has easily become the fastest cultural export of our people, and is easily the leading cultural display in most major events ranging from high value burial ceremonies to big stage political and cultural programs locally and internationally”. The Okpu-agu which has come to represent the Igbo cultural heritage is worn proudly to showcase the Igbo spirit of pride and respectability. He said, though it is no longer the norm to conquer territories it is obvious to see from the land warrior spirit that the conquests is still firmly rooted in our DNAs

“I stepped forward to present for the service of our people as the House of Representatives Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)” he concluded.
