A Federal High Court sitting in Umuahia has nullified the House of Assembly primaries of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Arochukwu L.G.A that produced Ifeanyi Ogbonna as the party’s flag bearer.

Ifeanyi Ogbonna had won the primary held on 24 May after defeating other contestants, including his closest rival, Prince Ike Okroafor.

Ike Okorafor one of the contestants filed a suit at the court challenging the outcome of the primaries.

The judge, Honorable Justice Usman Liman, in his judgment today, Thursday 29th December, 2022, held at Umuahia cited that based on the evidence and testimonies of witnesses, the APGA House of Assembly primaries election held on 24 May in the state “was flawed and marred by irregularities”

Usman Liman consequently nullified the election and ordered the party to conduct a fresh primary election within 14 days.
