In a significant development, Femi Gbajabiamila has officially resigned from his position as a member of the House of Representatives. The announcement came during a session presided over by Tajudeen Abbas, the Speaker of the House.

Gbajabiamila, who recently assumed the role of Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, expressed his decision to step down from his legislative duties in order to fully dedicate himself to his new responsibilities.

As a result of this resignation, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will organize a fresh election to fill the vacant position.
