BREAKING: Street Lighting Project Attracted By Dan Okeke In Abia Set For Completion (Photos)

Worried by the state of the Ohafia-Arochukwu Road, the APC House of Representatives candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency of Abia State in the just concluded elections, Chief Dan Okeke has attracted the lighting of the affected road with solar system.

The project which was on Friday flagged off by the NDDC covers from OGS to Army barrack Ebem Ohafia and is set to be fully completed in two weeks.

It is part of the NDDC’s projects in Niger Delta region which seeks to provide solar street light across its states.

Chief Okeke who explained that the project was implemented by Niger Delta Development Commission and developed by Express concern int’l Ltd and Dosag top-notch services Ltd, he (High Chief Daniel Chimezie Okeke) single-handedly facilitated it.

Chief Dr. Daniel Okeke said getting renewable energy light and other reasonable infrastructural developments for the constituency has been one of his visions since God blessed him, that was why he attracted the project to the area when the opportunity offered itself and assured his keenness to attract more projects.

Speaking with ABN TV on Friday, Chief Okeke said he did not attract the project for political gain but as a result of his deep rooted concern and commitment to serve the people.

According to him, while passing through the axis in recent times, he discovered that it was dark and had no illumination.

This he believes could provide an undercover for criminal elements to operate.

He thanked the NDDC and the people of Ohafia and Bende local governments for their continued support in ensuring an effective representation.

He urged the host community and the neighboring villages to take ownership of the project and endeavor to protect the facility so as to continue to benefit maximally.

While urging them to remain focused, he assured that their mandate will soon be restored.

Chief Okeke lost the Reps election of Feb. 25 to the LP’s Osonwa, a victory he said he will challenge in court.

In goodwill messages, traditional leaders across the constituency expressed gratitude to Chief Daniel Okeke for attracting such a great project in the constituency.

HRM, EZE Uduma Obuba, the traditional ruler of Amaekpu Ohafia, who was excited, said the community has never had light for a long time, adding that the solar electrification project is a big relief from the light challenges they face in Ohafia.
He assured that they will do everything possible to protect the facility.

Others who spoke included the village head of all the communities, The Garrison Commander from GEJ Barracks Col. L. A Adejo, The youth President of Ohafia – Mr Obasi Kalu,

They said the project has brought a great transformation to the areas as they now have steady and uninterrupted light supply that makes life better for them..
