The Staff Of the Abia State College of Education (Technical) Arochukwu have replied the Provost of the College Dr. Philip Nto over claim that No staff of ASCETA died of hunger.
The Provost who disclosed this on various media platforms including Radio and Social Medias disclosed that the college staff who were accused of being killed by severe starvation and hunger is false and never true. Dr. Nto noted that out of the four staff, three a no more in service while the one who was in service was not said to be killed out of hunger and starvation.
The provost who tagged this news as “False by the enemies of the college noted that they are only trying to tarnish the image of the college and to achieve their various selfish interest”.
Following this claim by the provost, the staff of the college have replied him.
As one of our correspondence was in the college premises few days ago to confirm how true the information was, the college staff insisted that their death were being caused by starvation and hunger noting that those the provost claimed not to be in service went home with empty stomach and continued in starvation and hunger which led to their death.
One of the staff who asked us not to publish her name disclosed that the 3 acclaimed staff who are no longer in service went on retirement hopelessly and without payment of any kind which kept them in worrisome state as it contributed to their death.
The Staff said,
If at all that the three staff who provost said that are no longer in service were not being killed by hunger, then what could be the reason for their death?. How can you retire someone from service without payment and expect the person to continue being alive. The truth is that even if they are no longer in service, that doesn’t mean that their various needs are no longer in service, the problems of their families will now worsen the more as the bread winner now stays at home without any source of income. How do you expect such person to continue living?. Lets tell our selves the truth, the causes of their death is nothing but hunger. How can someone go on retirement and be fine when he is owed 36 months salary?
