Woman seeking to sell her unborn child approaches physicians at the National Hospital in Abuja.
Doctors at the National Hospital in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja have been contacted by a pregnant 23-year-old woman who goes by the name Chinaza and wants to sell her unborn child.
According to Punch, Chinaza moved from her parents’ home in Imo state to a friend’s house in Lagos state. She became homeless after her friend’s home was later demolished. The two women relocated to Abuja to live with her friend’s uncle, but the building’s landlord eventually demanded that they go. She then made the choice to go to a hospital in order to find a parent for her unborn kid.
“Over the weekend, a pregnant woman came to the hospital and claimed she wanted to sell her unborn child. She claimed she became pregnant accidentally and left her parent’s Imo State home to stay with a friend in Lagos State.
She claimed that while she was living with her friend, their home was destroyed, and they had to move to Abuja to live with her friend’s uncle. They were later ordered to leave after her uncle’s landlady complained about the quantity of people occupying the apartment, according to her.
She claimed to have asked a woman she met in Utako, Abuja, for assistance when she was lost and received N500 in return. According to her, the woman instructed her to visit the hospital and express whatever was on her mind. She has been given to the FCT police. As I speak, she is still there. As per a source
The woman is currently in police custody and is being questioned, according to Josephine Adeh, the FCT police command’s spokesman, who confirmed the event.
