Responding on how long he has known the Chief Whip of the Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu, the president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu said: “Imagine since when, 1992, and then we have been together ever since.”

He described the kind of senators that is needed to bring about the type of desired democratic dispensation that will lead to the stability, progress, development, and security of the country, saying that it requires the generation of Senators that Orji Kalu represents.

He said: “Concern about the stability, progress, development, security of the country, the future of our youths, people like you and people who are junior to you is more critically important than our own salvation and personal intention.”

“We discussed the country, and this country is more important and greater than any one of us. The other part of it is that this is a family house for both of us. I know Orji Kalu and we’ve been together for a long time. That’s it.”

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has been one of the strong indefatigable supporters of the APC party and Tinubu’s presidency from the South-East of Nigeria.

While the majority of the South Easterners supported the Labour Party during the last February 25th 2023 elections, Orji Kalu and his supporters had shown unshakable support for the APC party and their candidates thereby defying all odds to ensure victory for the party.
