Abia North Restoration Movement was on Tuesday 23/11/2021 begged the former Senator to return to the Senate, in a statement signed by vice president of the organization, Chief Dan Ikwuagwu and Maduka Okorie claimed that the voice of Abia North Senatorial District was missing in the ninth Senate.
The group while drumming their support for the return of Senator Mao Ohuabunwa come 2023, claimed that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the incumbent senator representing Abia North Senatorial District of not being bold, vibrant and vocal enough on issues that affects the people of Abia North.
Replying to the statement, ANPF in a statement signed by Hon. Gabriel Idika Ukairo its Deputy National Coordinator, disclosed that Abia North is not ready to go back to Egypt when the people only benefited the disbursement of frying pan by Senator Mao Ohuabunwa as his constituency project.
According to the National Deputy Coordinator, Senator Orji Uzo Kalu has done exceptionally well for the people of Abia North by attracting and constructing not less than 30 roads in the District.
He said, ” Sen Kalu has brought unimaginable development for the people of Abia North. He has done beyond what a Senator could do. From road constructions, Sen. Orji has renovated and constructed schools and hospitals. He has empowered several indigens of his zone and created job opportunities . I am quite sure Senator Kalu won’t bring himself down with these career politicians whose interest is only to blackmail others for a peanut. These career politicians should be reminded that we have long ago left Egypt where frying pan was only constituency project attracted after 12 years in office.
“Senator Mao Ohuabunwa regime was a failure and majority of our people won’t return to Egypt with him. It is on record that even his people in Arochukwu where he came from rejected him in 2019. How can they return him in 2023?
“Mr. Ikwuagwu and his team should tell us why Ohuabunwa’s nomination as PDP National Secretary was viod by PDP stakeholders from the State. Ohuabunwa’s failure was broad from Umuneochi down to Arochukwu.
“I am sure this group cannot even come openly to mention Ohuabunwa to people of Abia North. Senator Kalu has redefined representation which is yet to be seen in the history of Abia North. Therefore, it is worthy to say that we won’t return to Egypt with him.”
