The National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal convened in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, has rendered a verdict nullifying the electoral victory of Hon. Ibe Okwara, a candidate affiliated with the Labour Party, who was previously representing the Arochukw/Ohafia Federal Constituency.

In the course of delivering their judgment on Monday in Umuahia, the tribunal’s three-member panel articulated that Hon. Ibe Okwara’s election was invalidated due to his non-compliance with the stipulated provisions of the Electoral Act. Consequently, the tribunal has declared High Chief Daniel Chimezie Okeke as the rightful winner of the election.
