According to the US Coast Guard, it is believed that human remains have been discovered in the wreckage of the Titan submersible. The sub, which suffered an implosion during a deep dive to the Titanic, resulting in the loss of five lives, had its fragments unloaded in St. John’s, Canada, on Wednesday.
Among the debris, Coast Guard officials found the sub’s landing frame and a rear cover. A formal analysis of the presumed remains will be carried out by US medical professionals, as stated in the coast guard’s official statement.
The agency has initiated an investigation into the causes of the Titan disaster, although it is still in its early stages. On June 18, all five individuals aboard the vessel tragically lost their lives approximately 90 minutes into the dive to observe the renowned 1912 shipwreck, which rests at a depth of 3,800m (12,500ft) in the North Atlantic.
