The Eze Aro in Council, led by Mazi Augustine Okoro, the Arianzu of Arochukwu Kingdom, along with Eze Ibom Isii Mazi HRH. Mazi Kanu Nwa Kanu, Eze Eze Agwu HRH Mazi Okorafor Uroh, and former Arochukwu LGA Chairman Mazi Nkem Okoro, paid a visit to Mr. Ikechukwu Okorouga, the acting Provost of the Abia State College of Education Tech. Arochukwu (ASCETA), to express their congratulations and admiration for his transformative leadership.
During the visit, the Eze Aro Council commended Mr. Okorouga for the remarkable changes witnessed at ASCETA since he assumed office. They lauded his achievements, which include the groundbreaking payment of pensions, staff promotions, extensive renovation of the school gate, perimeter fencing, prompt release of over 400 students’ results, enhanced staff welfare, and the consistent and timely payment of salaries.
In their address, the Eze Aro Council encouraged Mr. Okorouga to continue his commendable work, urging him not to be swayed by distractions or the various propagandas circulating within the institution. They assured him of their unwavering support and urged him to persevere in doing what is right for ASCETA.
In response, the acting Provost, Mr. Ikechukwu Okorouga, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Eze Aro in Council for their visit and sage advice. He expressed his commitment to further elevate ASCETA, vowing to make the Aro community proud as long as he remains in the position, be it acting or substantive.
Mr. Okorouga took the opportunity to highlight some of his achievements despite the acting capacity, emphasizing his vision to revive ASCETA. He passionately encouraged the Eze Aro in Council to promote ASCETA in Arochukwu’s various villages and attract more students to the college. He stressed that ASCETA is not just an institution for job seekers but a place where students are trained to be employers of labor.
The acting Provost also discussed the college’s entrepreneurial skill acquisition programs, offering opportunities in areas such as barbering, hairdressing, tailoring, artistry, mechanics, electrical and electronics repair, and more. He noted that despite the high-quality education provided, ASCETA remains one of Nigeria’s most affordable higher education institutions.
Mr. Okorouga expressed his unwavering confidence that, in due time, ASCETA would become a shining example of educational excellence.
Upon hearing Mr. Okorouga’s accomplishments and future plans, the Eze Aro Council expressed their satisfaction with his leadership. They urged the Governor of Abia State to consider appointing him as the substantive provost, recognizing his exceptional achievements within a short period.
