A group known as Arochukwu Youth For Credible Governance was on Monday 17 July, 2023 paid a courtesy visit to the acting Provost of the Abia State College Of Education Technical, Arochukwu (ASCETA) to congratulate him on his new position as the acting Provost of the college, Aro Okeigbo Blog reports.

During their visit, the president of the organization, Okoroji Walter, expressed unwavering confidence in the Provost, Mr. Ikechukwu Okorouga, emphasizing that it is time for ASCETA to attain a higher height under his leadership. Walter commended Mr. Okorouga, stating that he is a man with a genuine interest in the welfare of Aro youths and has worked tirelessly for the progress of ASCETA, even during challenging times. He expressed optimism that with Mr. Okorouga at the helm, ASCETA will become a first-class college in Nigeria. Walter urged the Provost to carry everyone along and assured him of their prayers for his confirmation, beyond the acting capacity.

Also present was Ogbonnaya Kanu Okereke, the secretary of the association, who described Mr. Okorouga’s appointment as divine, considering his longstanding dedication to the college and vast knowledge of the institution. Okereke thanked God for rewarding Mr. Okorouga with the acting provost position and fervently prayed for his confirmation.

Mrs. Blessing Mmadubueke commended the acting Provost for the ongoing developments within ASCETA, including the renovation of the school gate and Perimeter Fencing. She charged him to continue his good works in the college, despite any challenges that may arise.

In response, Mr. Ikechukwu Okorouga thanked the Arochukwu Youth For Credible Governance for their visit and congratulatory message. He expressed his determination to transform ASCETA to greater heights and encouraged the youth to promote the college among their peers. Mr. Okorouga expressed concern about the prevalence of youths embracing motorcycles over education and urged the group to advocate for ASCETA to bolster enrollment and community growth.

During the discussion, Mr. Okorouga unveiled his mission of creating employment by revamping the poultry and fish pond facilities within the college. He believes this initiative will generate more income for ASCETA and reduce its reliance on government funding. By creating additional job opportunities and enhancing the college’s sustainability, Mr. Okorouga aspires to propel ASCETA towards a brighter future.
