Nigerian youths have been urged to acquire Western education as a means of securing their future.
Provost of Abia State College of Education, (Technical), Arochukwu, Dr. Phillips Nto gave the advice at a special programme organized by the Assemblies of God Church, Agulu street, Umuahia.
Dr. Nto who was given an Award of Excellence can build their capacity and competence to equip them for future challenges.
According to the Provost, no matter how bad the economy is, those with certificates have more opportunities than their counterparts who are not educated.
While appreciating the honour done him by the church, Nto urged both the clergy and body of Christ to always pray for the peace and progress of Nigeria and Abia state.
Earlier, the Lead Pastor, Rev(Dr) Elisha Anyanwu emphasized the need for youths to emulate the Prophet Elijah in their lives.
Dr. Anyanwu who spoke on the topic, “The days of Elijah” stressed the need for youths to plan for their future.
He commended Dr. Nto for being a worthy example to Nigerian youths through his achievements, hence the award to him.
